Purple snowflakes

Posted in Uncategorized on January 9, 2011 by lizcreates

I stitched some purple snowflakes from Beadwork magazine, but was too lazy to run the thread through a second time.  This made the bracelet too floppy.  So I took the bracelet apart, and sewed the snowflakes onto my purse.  Eventually my purse will be covered in beadwork.

New bracelet design

Posted in Uncategorized on January 9, 2011 by lizcreates

In August I started a green seed-bead bracelet using right-angle-weave.  This creates a netted look, which I thought was too plain, so I started adding 4mm crystal bicones.  I decided to use two colors, and pointed the bicones in two directions.  It looks great but is rather heavy.  I hope to have it finished in a few days.

Coolest earrings yet

Ooooh these are my new favorites.  I’ve been playing with peyote-stitched tubes, which I’ve used as bars for toggle clasps.  For this one, I added some small red and dark blue seed beads as accents.  Too lazy to make a bunch of them to string on a necklace, I made earrings, and found some matching glass beads to add to them.  At the top and bottom are some Swarovski crystal bicone beads in the Montana Blue color which is very dark, but looks good here.

Christmas balls

I made a grand total of ONE beaded Christmas ball ornament cover.  I had plans to make a bunch, and give them out as gifts, but ran out of time.  Now I know why crafters start their holiday crafts in the summertime!
